Jim McFadden
Jim is financial markets professional with over 25 years experience across the disciplines of portfolio management within the hedge fund environment, corporate finance, investment banking, and equity research fields. he has analyzed distressed situations and advised management on future financial direction and options. In addition, he has provided valuation opinions for takeover situations and performed litigation research for antitrust cases.
He remained focused on an analytical approach emphasizing fundamental industry/business analysis and detailed financial modeling as the basis for successful operational results and investing.
Proficient in industry and individual company analysis, antitrust case research, financial modeling, stock selection, long/short portfolio construction and optimization, and special situations investing.
Jim has worked as an equity analyst and portfolio manager on Wall Street for more than 25 years, first as an Institutional Investor-ranked utilities analyst with Bear Stearns and Goldman Sachs and then as a long-short portfolio manager with hedge funds such as Amaranth Advisors and the Bass Brothers. In addition, he headed JP Morgan’s North American equity proprietary trading desk.
Jim holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (graduated with Distinction), as well an undergraduate civil engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame (Magna Cum Laude) and a MS degree in aeronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
